DiStefano Jaud Architecture is a studio-oriented firm with a strong client base and project expertise. We are looking to grow a specialized, full-service team of architects and technologists. Collectively, our skills produce meaningful projects that have a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

We have a diverse portfolio of project types and scale from civic projects including leisure centres, health care; commercial, industrial, as well as high-density residential and custom homes. Our projects are throughout British Columbia and Alberta with our primary focus in the Okanagan. We are attentive of a client-centred philosophy built upon the principles of creative and open information exchange in a friendly and collaborative work environment.

We are looking for design professionals who work simultaneously in all phases of architectural design from pre-design through construction administration.

Position: Architect
Level of Experience: Intermediate – Senior

As project architect you collaborate with the firm partners as well as lead client and consultant project teams in all phases of architectural design. The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates:

  • You are a registered architect (i.e AIBC, AAA) experienced in planning and design of public buildings and community spaces.
  • A strong and inspired design portfolio for conventional design with a keen understanding of the impact and service to be achieved in the design process.
  • A well-developed knowledge and practice in a variety of building types and construction methods in Canada.
  • Experience with a collection of recreation, community, multi-family, and mixed-use building projects.
  • A sophisticated understanding in all aspects of architecture, the design of civic spaces, and technological innovation.
  • Appreciation of high-quality architectural design and the ability to apply precision and design purpose to all levels of detailing and visual communication.
  • Experience in developing and managing projects with minimum supervision, including conceptualizing, designing, presenting, construction, contract documents, development permit documents, and communicating with contractors, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe CS.
  • Strong technical, graphic, organizational, schedule management, and communication abilities.
  • Site supervision and construction administration experience.
  • Commitment to professionalism and brings a collaborative and enthusiastic approach with effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • LEED AP, Passive House Designer certification considered an asset.

Position: Architectural Technologist
Level of Experience: Intermediate – Senior

As architectural technologist you work directly with lead architects and are involved with client and consultant project teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Certification with the AIBC as an Architectural Technologist.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Canadian project related experience.
  • The ability and experience to lead and manage project teams.
  • Experienced production of design drawings and construction documents.
  • Experience with consultant coordination.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and REVIT, MS Office 360, and Adobe CS.
  • Contract document and administration experience.
  • BC Building Code experience and knowledge.
  • Accomplished experience of all project types and scale.
  • A focus on creativity, initiative, quality, sustainability, and social responsibility.
  • Organizational, time management, diligence, and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

Position: Architectural Technologist
Level of Experience: Entry Level

As architectural technologist, you work directly with lead architects and are involved with client and consultant project teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Certification with the AIBC as an Architectural Technologist or in the process to become certified.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project related experience.
  • The ability and experience working in project teams.
  • Experienced production of design drawings and construction documents.
  • Experience with consultant coordination.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and REVIT, MS Office 360, and Adobe CS.
  • Contract document and administration experience.
  • BC Building Code experience and knowledge.
  • A focus on creativity, initiative, quality, sustainability, and social responsibility.
  • Organizational, time management, diligence, and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
